Theresa Holzhauser
has won the
national
competition „Jugend musiziert“, received the supporting prize of the
Bundeswettbewerb Gesang
Berlin and
finally was
awarded
with the 1. prize of the competition of the international
Opernwerkstatt
Schloss Laubach
as well as
with the Frankfurt
Mendelssohn-prize in 2010. 2011 she was
member of the Young Singers Project of the Salzburg
Festival
2011.
In the season
2012/13 the artist
will make
her debut at
Salzburg Easter
Festival
in the role of Flower Maiden
I/3 in Parsifal with
Christian
Thielemann
conducting. Theresa Holzhauser
starts the season
with a
residential
contract
at Theater
St. Gallen
where she will appear
as Maddalena
in Rigoletto, Afra
in La Wallyand
2nd Lady
in The Magic Flute.
Besides the mezzosoprano
will sing concerts, performing in Bach’s
Christmas Oratorio, Mozart’s
Mass c-minorand Brahms’
Altrhapsodie in
Munich.
In the season
2013/14 she will make
her debut at
Beijing Music Festival
in Parsifal.
Theresa Holzhauser
studied at
Hochschule für Musik und Theater
München. Since 2008 she attended
the Lied class
with Helmut Deutsch and
the French Lied class
with Celine Dutilly. At
the moment she works with Kammersängerin
Marga Schiml. Already
during her studies Theresa Holzhauser
sang numerous performances
in operaand
concert. She was
Juliet in Britten’s The little sweepas
well as
Tamiri in
Mozart’s Il re pastoreat
Stadttheater
Augsburg, Zweite Dame
in Zauberflöte
in a
production of the Hochschule München, Balki
in Gluck’s Die Pilger von Mekkaand the
sorceress in Purcell’s Dido and Aeneas in a
production of the Bavarian
Theaterakademie.
For the reopening of the Reaktorhalle
Munich she appeared
in Fausts Träume
by Jan Müller
Wieland and
György Ligeti and
as Dorabella
in Cosi fan tutte.
With the Münchner Rundfunkorchester she sang
Gwendolyne in Lehar’s
Fürstenkindand
Beate in
Lortzing’s Regina. At Teatro
dell’ Opera
di Roma
she had
her debut as
Zweite Magd
in Strauss’
Elektra.
Engagements in
the season
2011/12 included the title role in Hasse’s
Didone abbandonata
with Münchner Hofkapelle
under Michael
Hofstetter at
the Opéra
Royal de Versailles.
The mezzosoprano’s
concert repertoire includes Bach-Cantatas,
Johannes-Passion, Weihnachtsoratorium, Mozart’s Requiem and Mass in c-minor, Rossini’s Petite
Messe Solennelle, Mendelssohn’s Elias, Paulus and Erste Walpurgisnacht as well as Brahms’ Altrhapsodie.
