Ramona Bolojan, contralto

With her unusual contralto and brilliant top her voice caused a stir.

Ramona Bolojan matriculated at the art school in her hometown of Oradea, where she studied violin. She graduated at the Gheorghe Dima Music Academy in Cluj-Napoca with a diploma for stringed instruments and with a diploma for singing and music Art in 2013.

Besides her native language Romanian, she studied German, Italian, French and Russian. Furthermore she visited the Goethe Institute in Bucharest. Initially she worked as a violinist in the orchestra of the State Philharmonic Orchestra in Transilvania and at the Romanian National Opera Cluj-Napoca. Then she started her career as a singer at the National Opera in Cluj, where Ramona Bolojan was engaged in Puccini's Trittico as Principessa / Suor Angelica,  Zita in  Gianni Schicchi, Oreille in Tristan Taza's La Deuxieme Aventure de Monsieur antipyrine, the witch in Humperdings Hansel and Gretel and Maddalena in Verdi's Rigoletto.

Ramona Bolojan attended masterclasses of Horiana Branisteanu,  Elisabeth Cornelius Lund in Salzburg and Claudia Ruggeberg in Graz. In addition, she won in 2014 the first prize at the "Paul Constantinescu Competition" in Ploiesti.
