Liana Aleksanyan - soprano back

After an audition for Simone Young in autumn 2009 the 29-year-old soprano was immediately invited to Staatsoper Hamburg to sing the roles of Gilda (Rigoletto) and Violetta (La Traviata). In the current season, Liana Aleksanyan can be seen at Komische Oper Berlin as Mimi in La Bohème and as Violetta in La Traviata. At Staatstheater Braunschweig, she celebrates her role debuts as Micaela (Carmen) and Lucia (Lucia di Lammermoor) and returns in the role of Tatjana in Eugen Onegin. In November 2009, she very successfully filled in as Mimi at Cologne Opera under the baton of Alexander Joel.

In the last season, Liana Aleksanyan sang Antonia in Les Contes d’Hoffmann and Violetta in La Traviata at Komische Oper Berlin. Since 2006/07, the soprano has been ensemble member of Staatstheater Braunschweig where she has impersonated a multitude of roles including Gilda (Rigoletto), Desdemona (Otello), Mimi (La Bohème), Amelia (Simone Boccanegra) and Angelica (Orlando Paladino). Before, the artist debuted in the title role of Puccini’s Manon Lescaut at the Norwegian National Opera and Landestheater Linz, and sang the Contessa Almaviva in Mozart’s Le Nozze die Figaro at Volksoper Wien as well as Fiordiligi in Cosi fan tutte at the international opera festival „Opéra de Bauge“ in France.

The soprano of Armenian origin studied singing at the Yerevan Komitas State Conservatory and was awarded a stipend by the renowned Armenian singer Cathy Berberian dedicated to the support of young talents. Master courses led Liana Aleksanyan among other things to the Teatro alla Scala in Milan, where she worked with Maestro Dante Mazzola on the roles of Violetta and Donna Anna. The soprano celebrated numerous successes at international competitions such as the Hans Gabor Belvedere Wettbewerb in Vienna, the Competizione dell’Opera of the Semperoper Dresden and the Concours International de Chant de la Ville de Toulouse.
