In the 2007/08 season, Eva Jenis sings the three female leads in a new production of Janacek’s Ausflüge des Herrn Broucek at the Grand Théâtre de Genève (Jannis Kokkos / Kirill Karabits). Eva Jenis won great acclaim for Janacek’s Jenufa at the Grand Théâtre de Luxembourg as well as for Puccini’s Madama Butterfly at the Opéra de Nancy in recent seasons. After notable role-portraits as Violetta, Rusalka, Jenufa and Katia Kabanova, which Eva Jenis sang at London’s Covent Garden, Bayerische Staatsoper, Oper Zurich and Opéra National de Lyon successfully, the soprano broadened her repertoire with Cio-Cio-San, making her role-debut at Florida Grand Opera Miami. Her repertoire also includes Vitellia in Mozart’s Clemenza di Tito. Eva Jenis sang this role in the festival-production of Aix-en-Provence at Festspielhaus Baden-Baden and at Grand Théâtre de Luxembourg during the season 2005/06. Furthermore, Eva Jenis made her house-debut at the Grand Théâtre de Bordeaux as Donna Anna in a new production of Don Giovanni and sang this same part at the opera-houses of Caen and Rouen. She sang Marie in Smetana’s Bartered Bride at the Bayerische Staatsoper Munich and at the Teatro Giuseppe Verdi Trieste, as well as the revival of Manoury’s opera K (based on Kafka’s The Trial) at the Opéra National de Paris. Top-class concert engagements led her to the Accademia Santa Cecilia Roma under Myung-Whun Chung, to the Norddeutscher Rundfunk Hamburg (Bruckner’s Mass in f minor under Herbert Blomstedt) and - on the occasion of the Dvorak & Janacek anniversary 2004 - to the Orchestre National de Lorraine (Dvorak’s Te Deum and Janacek’s Glagolitic Mass). In June 2001 Eva Jenis was awarded the GRAMMY in the category “Best Opera Production” for the CD-recording (Erato) of Busoni’s “Doktor Faust”, which she also sang in the opera’s Japanese premiere with the Tokyo Philharmonic Orchestra in February 2002. Eva Jenis has performed at Wiener Staatsoper, Bayerische Staatsoper Munich, Oper Frankfurt, De Nederlandse Opera Amsterdam, Opernhaus Zürich, Royal Opera House Covent Garden London, Teatro dell’Opera di Roma, Teatro Regio Torino, Teatro Comunale Bologna, Teatro Real Madrid, Théâtre Châtelet Paris, Opéra National de Lyon, Teatro Colon Buenos Aires and in concerts at the Wiener Musikverein, Grosses Festspielhaus Salzburg, Bruckner Haus Linz, Philharmonie München, Gewandhaus Leipzig and the Salle Pleyel Paris. She has worked with important orchestras such as the Wiener Symphoniker, the RSO Wien, the Münchner Philharmoniker, the Orchestre Philharmonique de Radio-France, the Orchestre de la Suisse Romande Genève and the Orchestre Symphonique de Montréal, and with renowned conductors like Aldo Ceccato, Charles Dutoit, Daniele Gatti, Nikolaus Harnoncourt, Marek Janowski, Fabio Luisi, Sir Charles Mackerras and Ulf Schirmer. 2007/08
