Denis Vlasenko graduated from the Academy of Choral Art in Moscow where he joined the class of Prof. Victor Popov. He continued his studies at the Tchaikovsky State Conservatory Moscow (Prof. Vladimir Ponkin) and in the Rimsky-Korsakov St. Petersburg State Conservatory (Prof. Alexander Titov).
The conductor has appeared in international music festivals in Colmar, at the Rheingau Musik Festival, in Oldenburg and in the Philharmonic Debut Festival of the Moscow Philharmonic Society.
In 2005-2007, Denis Vlasenko was an assistant conductor of the National Philharmonic Orchestra of Russia led by Vladimir Spivakov. He worked and performed with such orchestras as Orchestra del Teatro Comunale di Bologna, Orchestra del Teatro Carlo Felice di Genova, Form - Orchestra Filarmonica Marchigiana, Bamberger Symphoniker, the National Philharmonic Orchestra of Russia, the Moscow Philharmonic Orchestra, the National Orchestra of Ukraine and many others. He worked with outstanding Russian and international conductors such as Svetlanov, Temirkanov, Rozhdestvensky, Penderezky, Barshai, Fedoseyev, Spivakov, Rilling, Zedda, Conlon, Panula, Kiesler.
In summer of 2008, he made his conducting debut, performing Rossini’s Il Viaggio a Reims at the Rossini Opera Festival in Pesaro (Italy). In March 2009, he conducted a new production of Puccini’s Turandot at the Petruzzelli Theatre in Bari (Italy). In January 2009, Denis joined the Kolobov Novaya Opera Theatre, where he conducted Puccini’s Messa di Gloria, Mozart's Zauberflöte and Rossini's Barbiere di Siviglia.
Denis Vlasenko is prize-winner of the Stefan Turchak First International Competition for Conductors (November 2006, Kiev, Ukraine) and the Gennady Rozhdestvensky First International Competition for Conductors (May 2006, Sofia, Bulgaria).
