Dagmar Peckova - mezzosoprano back

In 2008/09 Dagmar Peckova will sing new productions of Gustav Mahler’s Symphony N° 3 (scenic version by John Neumeier) at the Opéra National de Paris, Stravinsky’s Rake’s Progress at the Opera Oviedo and R. Strauss’ Salome at the Staatstheater Kassel. In concert she will appear twice (Wagner/Mahler) with the BBC Symphony Orchestra under Jiri Belohlavek as well as at the Gulbenkian Foundation Lisbon.
 
As one of the world’s most requested mezzo-sopranos, Dagmar Peckova has performed at the Salzburger Festspiele, Bayerische Staatsoper, Staatsoper Dresden, Hamburgische Staatsoper, Staatstheater Stuttgart, National Theatre Prague, Opern-haus Zürich, Grand Théâtre de Genève, Théâtre du Châtelet Paris, Théatre Royal de la Monnaie Bruxelles, Opéra National de Lyon, Gran Teatre del Liceu Barcelona, Teatro Sao Carlos Lisboa, Royal Opera House Covent Garden London, De Neder-landse Opera Amsterdam and the San Francisco Opera. She has sung under the baton of outstanding conductors such as Ashkenazy, Bychkov, Cambreling, Casadesus, Davies, Dohnanyi, Dutoit, Eschenbach, Fedoseyev, Gielen, Hager, Hickox, Honeck, Inbal, Janowski, Judd, Kout, Kreizberg, Luisi, Macal, Mackerras, Nagano, Nott, Pesek, Prêtre, Rasilainen, Runnicles, Sawallisch, St. Clair, Stein, Swensen, Tate, Tovey, Weller, Wolff and Young.

Dagmar Peckova has performed recitals at halls such as the Wiener Musikverein, Carnegie Hall New York, Wigmore Hall London, Châtelet Paris, Concertgebouw Amsterdam, Brucknerhaus Linz, Gewandhaus Leipzig, in Strasbourg, Ludwigsburg and Lisbon, at the Rheingau and Schleswig Holstein Musik Festival, Carinthischer Sommer and Prager Frühling, and has been a guest performer at the BBC Proms and the Edinburgh Festival. Supraphon and Teldec have released numerous CDs.
 
Born in Chrudim near Prague, Dagmar Peckova is a graduate of Prague Conservatory. She has been successful in a number of important contests, including 1st prize at the Prague Spring Festival and at the Dvorák competition. After a first season’s engagement at the Sächsische Staatsoper Dresden, Dagmar Peckova was a member of the Deutsche Staatsoper Berlin for many years.
