Dagmar Peckova, mezzosoprano

In the last season Dagmar Peckova was heard with Dvorak's Biblical Songs with the Wiener Philharmoniker in the Wiener Musikverein and in Janacek's Glagolitic Mass at the BBC Proms. She also sang Dvorak's Stabat mater with the London Philharmonic Orchestra conducted by Neeme Järvi and on the occasion of the Mahler anniversery she performed Kindertoten-Lieder with the Royal Philharmonic Flanders conducted by Philippe Herreweghe, Klagendes Lied at the Tonhalle in Düsseldorf under Martyn Brabbins, Lied von der Erde with the Orchestre National de Montpellier conducted by Enrico Delamboye, the 2nd Symphony with the Hamburger Philharmoniker under Simone Young, the 3nd Symphony at Wiener Konzerthaus conducted by Christian Arming, as well as at the Festspielhaus in Salzburg and in Stefaniensaal Graz under Aleksandar Markovic and the Wunderhorn-Lieder with the Orquesta Simfònica de Barcelona with Pablo Gonzalez and touring Europe with the Residenzorchester Den Haag under Christian Vasquez.

In the season 2011/12 Dagmar Peckova sings Brangaene at the Staatstheater Braunschweig and Kabanicha in a new production of Katya Kabanova at the Theater Basel. In concert, Dagmar Peckova returns to the Orchestre National de Lille, with Beethoven's Symphony No. 9 under Jean-Claude Casadesus and for the first time she will work together with Kirill Petrenko in the role of Waltraute in a concert performance of Götterdämmerung at the RAI Turin.

Dagmar Peckova has performed at the Salzburger Festspiele, Bayerische, Sächsische and Hamburgische Staatsoper, Opéra National de Paris, Staatstheater Stuttgart, National Theatre Prague, Opernhaus Zürich, Grand Théâtre de Genève, Opéra National de Paris, Théâtre du Châtelet Paris, Théatre Royal de la Monnaie Bruxelles, Opéra National de Lyon, Gran Teatre del Liceu Barcelona, Teatro Sao Carlos Lisboa, Royal Opera House Covent Garden London, De Nederlandse Opera Amsterdam and the San Francisco Opera. She has sung under the baton of outstanding conductors such as Ashkenazy, Axelrod, Belohlavek, Bychkov, Cambreling, Casadesus, Corboz, Davies, Dohnanyi, Dutoit, Eschenbach, Fedoseyev, Gielen, Hager, Hickox, Honeck, Inbal, Janowski, Joel, Judd, Kout, Lazarev, Liebreich, Luisi, Macal, Märkl, Nagano, Netopil, Nott, Ono, Palumbo, Pesek, Piollet, Prêtre, Rasilainen, Runnicles, Sawallisch, Schiff, St. Clair, Swensen, Tate, Tovey, Traub, Urbanski, Weigle, Weller and Wolff.

She has collaborated with: Münchner Philharmoniker, DSO Berlin, Staatskapelle Berlin, Staatskapelle Dresden, Dresdner Philharmonie, RSO Frankfurt, Bamberger Symphoniker, Orchesters of WDR, SWR, MDR and NDR, Orchestre de la Suisse Romande, Tonhalle Zürich, Budapest Festival Orchestra, Radio France, Orchestre de Paris, Orchestre National de France, Orchestre National de Lille, Orchestre Philharmonique de Luxembourg, Orchestre National de Belgique, Netherlands Philharmonic, London Symphony, The Philharmonia, BBC Symphony, Royal Liverpool and Scottish Chamber Orchestra, Oslo und Israel Philharmonic, Tschechische Philharmonie, Prager Symphoniker, Cleveland und Pittsburgh Symphony, Orchestre Symphonique de Montréal und NHK Symphony Orchestra Tokyo. She has performed recitals at the Wiener Musikverein, Châtelet Paris, Concertgebouw Amsterdam, Gewandhaus Leipzig, Carnegie Hall New York, Wigmore Hall London, at the Rheingau and Schleswig Holstein Musik Festival and also at the Prague Spring Festival. She has been a guest performer at the BBC Proms and the Edinburgh Festival. Supraphon and Teldec have released numerous CDs.

Born in Chrudim near Prague, Dagmar Peckova is a graduate of Prague Conservatory. She has been successful in a number of important contests, including 1st prize at the Prague Spring Festival and at the Dvorák competition. After a first season’s engagement at the Sächsische Staatsoper Dresden, Dagmar Peckova was a member of the Deutsche Staatsoper Berlin for many years.
