The Austrian soprano begins the 2007/08 season with performances of Verdi’s Messa da Requiem under the baton of Alexander Joel in Braunschweig. She makes her role debut as Mimi in Bohème there for the opening production of the season. In January/February 2007, Arpiné Rahdjian debuted at the Opéra de Paris as Donna Elvira in the revival of Don Giovanni, directed by Michael Hanecke. In the previous summer she enjoyed a successful debut at the Salzburger Festspiele in Mozart’s Il re pastore, which opened the 2006 festival. Further guest performances took her to the Musikfest Bremen and the Beethovenfest in Bonn. At the Feldkirch Music Festival 2006 she sang Donna Elvira in the new production of Mozart’s Don Giovanni, conducted by Thomas Hengelbrock, to great acclaim. She debuted in Catania with Mahler’s Symphony Nr. 4 under Stefano Ranzani and sang Bernstein’s Symphony Kaddish at the Tonhalle Düsseldorf. Arpiné Rahdjian’s early performances at the Wiener Konzerthaus, the Wiener Musikverein, the Stadttheater Klagenfurt, the Landestheater Salzburg and the Bregenzer Festspielhaus led to her jubilant debut as Micaela in Bizet's Carmen at the Styriarte Graz under Nikolaus Harnoncourt (Director: Andrea Breth) in June 2005. She then sang the part at the Deutsche Staatsoper Unter den Linden in Berlin and in Hamburg under Ralf Weikert. She has been invited to perform in Cleveland with the Pittsburgh Symphony Orchestra. Further tours have led her to Japan, Switzerland, the Czech Republic, the United States and Canada. Arpiné Rahdjian’s current repertoire includes roles such as Fiordiligi (Cosí fan tutte), Contessa (Le Nozze di Figaro), Donna Elvira (Don Giovanni), Agathe (Der Freischütz), Gräfin Zedlau (Wiener Blut), Liú (Turandot), Micaela (Carmen), Mimi (La Bohème), Tatjana (Eugen Onegin) and Desdemona (Otello). Arpiné Rahdjian studied at the Vienna Conservatory, graduating with honours in 2002. She attended master classes with Patricia Wise, Olivera Miljakovic, Walter Berry and Christa Ludwig. She has worked regularly with Mirella Freni since 2004. In 2002, Arpiné Rahdjian won the International Hans Gabor Belvedere competition and in 2005 she took first place at the International Competition Mirella Freni “Italian Opera” during a one-year master class in Austria. 2007/08
