Andreas Scheibner, baritone
At
the beginning of the season 2011/12 Andreas Scheibner sings in the Swiss
premiere of Death and the Maiden at
the Theater St. Gallen. Moreover hill will sing this season the Requiem by Brahms at the Philharmonie
Berlin, he will give concerts at the Frauenkirche in Dresden, with works by Johann Sebastian Bach
and Franz Liszt. At the Opéra de Marseille, he celebrated in March 2011 a
resounding success with his interpretation of Wozzeck by Alban Berg: In the title role, Andreas Scheibner is
monumental, he acts and sings to ultimate perfection (La Provence); Wozzeck,
presented by the luxury baritone Andreas Scheibner, is both terrific and
pitiful, touching in his human weakness and deperate by his hallucinations (La
Marseillaise).
In
the previous seasons Kammersänger Andreas Scheibner appeared in the new
production of Henze’s Prince of Homburg
at the Theater an der Wien. Before that he sang in new productions at Opéra de
Lille (Wozzeck), Oper Bonn (Hindemith’s Cardillac), at Théâtre Royal de la
Monnaie (Tristan und Isolde), at New
Israeli Opera (Wozzeck), at the Schwetzinger Festspiele (world-premiere of
Hölszky’s The Good God of Manhattan),
at Sächsische Staatsoper Dresden (The
Good God of Manhattan and Penderecki’s The
Devils of Loudon), at the Theater an der Wien (Bloch’s Macbeth), at Teatro Lirico Cagliari (Weber’s Euryanthe) and at Opéra National de Paris (Fledermaus and the world-premiere of Manoury’s opera K.). Andreas Scheibner appeared in
numerous concerts at Grosses Festspielhaus Salzburg, Gewandhaus Leipzig, Philharmonie Köln, Victoria
Hall Geneva, Accademia Santa Cecilia Roma,
Teatro Comunlae Firenze as well as in Weimar, Zagreb, Trieste, Cagliari, Stavanger and Madrid. Further more he
toured through South-America with the Dresdner Philharmonie.
During
his successful carrer Andreas Scheibner sang together with orchestras such as
New York Philharmonic, Cleveland Orchestra, Houston Symphony, Czech
Philharmonic, Gewandhausorchester Leipzig, Staatskapelle Berlin, Münchner Philharmoniker, Gürzenich
Orchester Köln, MDR Sinfonieorchester Leipzig, NDR Sinfonieorchester Hamburg, Duisburger
Philharmoniker, Neue Philharmonie Westfalen, Orchestre de la Suisse Romande
Genève, Orchestre Philharmonique de Liège, Symphony Orchestra of the Swedish
Radio, Royal Stockholm Philharmonic, Orchestra Maggio Musicale Fiorentino and
the orchestras of RAI Torino and Milan. He guested at the Wiener Musikverein,
at Salzburger Festspiele, at Brucknerfest Linz, at Beethovenfest Bonn, at the
Granada Festival, at BBC London and at Suntory Hall Tokyo.
Andreas
Scheibner worked together with renowned conductors such as Berio, Casadesus, Davies,
Davis, Eschenbach, Ferro, Frühbeck, zu Guttenberg, Hager, Horvat, Karabchevsky,
Kuhn, Luisi, Märkl, Metzmacher, Navarro, Ono, Perick, Schneider, Schreier, Sinopoli,
Weil and Wildner and has made several guest appearances at the Wiener
Staatsoper, Staatstheater Stuttgart, Oper Leipzig, Teatro La Fenice Venezia,
Teatro Giuseppe Verdi Trieste and at the Opéra de Lyon.
Andreas Scheibner was born
in Dresden,
became a soloist of the Dresdner Kreuzchor and studied at the Musikhochschule
Dresden. Andreas Scheibner has been a soloist at the Sächsische Staatsoper
Dresden since 1983. Due to his artistic
merits, Andreas Scheibner was invested as "Kammersänger" by the
Ministry of Culture.
